This document explains how to unpack the Quantum PX506 and PX510

libraries and install them in a standard 19 in. rack. Once the library is

unpacked and installed, set up the library using the instructions in the

Quantum PX500 Series User’s Guide PN 81-81290.

The Quantum PX506 and PX510 are automated storage and retrieval libraries

consisting of:

• up to six tape drives and up to 88 SDLT cartridges or 100 LTO tape

cartridges for the PX506 (see figure 1

• up to ten tape drives and up to 171 SDLT or 201 LTO tape cartridges for

the PX510 (see figure 2)

Caution: Do NOT unpack the Quantum PX506 or PX510 unless you are

a qualified Quantum field service engineer.
