3 Insert terminators (high-density 68-pin) in all unused SCSI ports on the drives.

4 Double check your cabling, ensuring that cables are correctly routed and adequately secured in place.

Also verify that all devices are correctly terminated.

To connect the RJ-45 Ethernet cable to your SNC 6101

1 Plug one end of your Ethernet cable into the RJ-45 1 port of the SNC 6101 (RJ-45 2 is disabled). Refer

to “Ethernet ports” illustrated in Figure 5

on page 17.

2 Plug the other end of this cable into your Ethernet LAN. See Figure 9

for an example.

3 Provide another Ethernet cable to connect the laptop/desktop to your Ethernet switch.

SCSI cabling can also be verified using the service port (null modem) on the

SNC 6101 during configuration (scsiShow command). Refer to To configure

the SNC 6101 on page 22.

Note

These installation procedures connect the Ethernet port used when you are

updating SNC 6101 firmware.
