Installing Optional Hardware
This section describes how to install the Scalar 24 optional hardware. The optional hardware includes:
• Additional Drive
• Remote Management Unit
• Rackmount Kit
• Storage Networking Controller

manual on the Scalar 24 product CD or w

Installing an Additional Drive
Your Scalar 24 comes with either one or two drives. If you have one drive, you can install an additional drive
by following the procedure below. Your Scalar 24 can contain up to two drives. To replace an installed drive
with a new drive, refer to Removing and Replacing a Drive
on page 25.
1 Remove the drive module from the packaging.
Note
These procedures apply to both SCSI and Fibre Channel drives. SCSI drives
are shown in the following figures.
